To mark the International Day of people with Disability, Aphasia WA hosted a supper and bowls night at the Lake Monger Recreation Club in Wembley. A wonderful evening was held with over thirty people celebrating, including many people living with aphasia and their supporters.
Aphasia WA held a unique one – day event aimed at sharing the ways people with aphasia maintain wellness and wellbeing. It included talks from people living with aphasia from across WA; a talk about grief and loss from Social Worker Iris Barten; a meditation workshop by Dr Britta Biedermann of Curtin University and a group sing-along. The day ended with a mindful eating experience led by Eamon Barron from FoodBank. The day was a terrific success!
